This session will look at the current status and practical implications of the Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, two years after being adopted by the United Nations.
To comply with these principles, some companies have started to develop strategic approaches focusing on these principles’ underlying framework of “protect, respect and remedy”. How will companies ensure effective implementation, and what have been the most successful approaches to date? What are the implications of these strategies on operational processes and management tools? Can companies move beyond risk management to make positive contributions to global human rights? Can a proactive, integrated human rights strategy provide meaning to the workplace and engage employees?
