Biography

Dr. Wiebe Boer manages the daily operations, strategy development and execution for the Foundation. His vision for The Tony Elumelu Foundation is to be a benchmark for 21st century African philanthropy. TEF has been assigned the mission of driving Africa's economic development by enhancing the competitiveness of the African private sector. Under his leadership, the foundation strategically deploys its resources to generate solutions to challenges that inhibit Africa's entrepreneurs.

Dr. Boer is the director of Mtanga Farms (in Tanzania), in addition to serving as a member of the Digital Divide Data Kenya advisory board and on the board of the African Grantmakers Network. He also sits on the Nigerian Ministry of Agriculture's Steering Committee for National Youth Employment in Agriculture.

Previously, Dr. Boer held the position of Associate Director at The Rockefeller Foundation, one of the world's leading charitable organizations. In addition, he has worked as a consultant with McKinsey & Company and spent several years in Mauritania managing a USAID-funded food aid development project for World Vision.
