Speaker Bill CLARK
Bill Clark is a partner in the Philadelphia office of the law firm Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP. He is the author of the Model Benefit Corporation Legislation that has been enacted in 28 states and has influenced similar statutes enacted in five other states. A benefit corporation is a new form of Business Corporation that seeks to create a material positive impact on society and the environment, taken as a whole, from its business and operations and that meets higher standards of accountability and transparency. Bill was the Reporter for the Mission Alignment Working Group of the G8 Taskforce on Social Impact Investing and wrote the recommendations of that group that encourage countries to change their laws to promote responsible business. Throughout his career he has been involved in the drafting of business entity statutes and that experience has uniquely prepared him for his current efforts to redesign business entities to make them a force for good. He is a fellow of the American Bar Foundation, a member of the American Law Institute and is listed in The Best Lawyers in America.
