Biography

From 2007 and until the completion of the Frank Gehry masterplan for Sonderborg Harbour Company in 2009, Peter Rathje was also in charge of the master plan creation-process. The GEHRY project is focused on turning a 50.000 m2 old harbor area into a vibrant ZEROcarbon community.

From 1999 until accepting his present position in 2007, he was CEO of Agramkow Fluid Systems A/S, focused on fluid charging solutions for industry applications including the automotive industry.

Until 1999 he was EMEA Vice-president Sales of US based Scientific Atlanta (Now part of Cisco). Peter Rathje has work-experience from global organizations and lived in both Frankfurt/Germany and Pennsylvania/USA.

During the last 25 years Peter Rathje has been an active board-member of business schools, university colleges and University organizations.

Peter Rathje has also been chairman/board-member of private companies, industry associations and employers organization in Denmark and abroad. At present he is a board-member of Lean Energy Cluster, University College Syd and the NORD-star research project.

ProjectZero - a ZEROcarbon Sonderborg before the end of 2029

ProjectZero is the vision for turning Sonderborg/Denmark (500 km2, 76.000 people, 440.000 pigs, 250.000 hens etc) into a ZEROcarbon community before the end of 2029, based on sustainable growth and creating many new Green Jobs during the transformation.

For the initial 4 years 2007 - 2011, Sonderborg has reduced its carbon emissions by 16.2% and created average 800 new green jobs.

In March 2010 ProjectZero was awarded the 2010 EU Sustainable Energy Communities Prize Award

by EU Energy Commissioner Günther H. Oettinger. In February 2012 ProjectZero was accepted as a participating member of the Clinton Climate Positive Development Project.
