Speaker Georges UZBELGER

Biography

Since 2002, Georges Uzbelger is an engineer at IBM France, currently in charge of consulting services and design solutions in the cognitive field / Watson, analytics and big data, particularly in the health sector.

He is also in charge of developing scientific cooperation (particularly scientific projects, courses, seminars) between IBM and the academic-research ecosystem in information and applied mathematics on topics of numerical analysis and optimization, scientific computing and high performance, cognitive, analytics and Big Data. As such, he carries out teaching activities at the Ecole Polytechnique, Université Pierre et Marie Curie and Paris-Dauphine University.

Previously he was an engineer of development of embedded scientific computing and real-time telecom, pre-sale engineer and Chief Telecom project in a computer services company from 1984 to 1993, and telecommunications engineer at a large French telecom equipment manufacturer from 1994-2001.

He has excellent knowledge of market, network technologies and server, Linux / Open Source, facilities management services, grid computing, cloud computing, virtualization, Data / Text Mining and scientific computing, and academic-research mathematical ecosystem in France.

Georges Uzbelger is adherent to the SMF (Mathematical Society of France), member of the liaison committee SMAI-MAIRCI member of Syntec Numérique Santé, Chair of the Development Committee for the Master "Mathematics and Applications" of UPMC, member of the Board of Directors of the MIDO department of Paris-Dauphine University and member of the Committee of Mathematics Culture at the Institut Henri Poincaré.

Born in 1960, George Uzbelger has graduated from the University of Paris IX Dauphine in 1984 (Mathematics and Fundamental Applications).
