Speaker Lary BROWN

A native of Illinois, USA, Lary has a master’s degree in Asian Studies (Chinese) from the University of Illinois. He began his career as a merchandiser for a sleeping bag manufacturer in Taiwan, and worked for a time as Quality Manager in the company’s factory in Dongguan, China before starting as a social compliance auditor and report editor for Verité in 1999. From 2002-2004 he was the Labor Specialist with the Congressional-Executive Commission on China in Washington before spending 7 years as head of social compliance for a major athletic footwear brand. He has been responsible for social compliance at Esprit since 2011, and for environmental and social sustainability since 2015.
