Speaker Louise FRECHETTE
Biography
Louise Frechette was the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations from 1998 to 2006, the first appointee to this position. Prior to that, she pursued a career in the Public Service of Canada, serving as Ambassador to Argentina, Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Associate Deputy Minister of Finance and Deputy Minister of National Defense.
Ms. Fréchette brings to the Board, among other things, her UN and non-governmental organizations experience, her knowledge of emerging countries and her experience in sustainable development and governance matters. She is Chairman of the CSR Committee.
