Through its three complementary business activities, Veolia helps to develop access to resources, preserve available resources, and to replenish them.
In 2018, the Veolia group supplied 95 million people with drinking water and 63 million people with wastewater service, produced nearly 56 million megawatt hours of energy and converted 49 million metric tons of waste into new materials and energy.
For Veolia, as a company serving our customers and operating in the very heart of the regions, sustainable development is first and foremost an issue of legitimacy. The way in which we fit into our environment, support our employees and dialogue with our stakeholders determines our right to operate. Our CSR ambition must make us attractive for our stakeholders, and therefore improve our competitiveness. We have translated it into 9 commitments and 12 key indicators as well as set precise objectives to be met by 2020, along 3 aspects: resourcing the world, resourcing the regions and ensuring the well-being and fulfillment of its employees.
Our CSR commitments are at the heart of the Purpose that the Veolia Group officially gave itself in Marsh 2019. Veolia’s Purpose is to contribute to human progress by firmly committing to the Sustainable Development Goals set by the UN to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. It is with this aim in mind that Veolia sets itself the task of “Resourcing the world” through its environmental services business.
